For this project the client approached us after she had already filmed the interviews herself and was at a loss as to how to proceed.

Once I had reviewed the footage and we had agreed on a rough chapter structure, I cut the source footage down from 27 hours to 32 minutes.

We had no input in capturing the interviews, which helps excuse some strange framings (and less than ideal audio), although we did source the cutaways from an Orkney-based wildlife broadcast camera operator.

Taken as a whole I’m pleased with it; it’s an unusual project for a corporate editor to deal with. The interviewees could have been shot better, but the rest of the footage is beautiful.
